I have been suffering this from a while ago, but lately it has become so intense that I'm tired.

I run WinXP on an AMD with double proccessor. No matter what I try, I am unable to connect as any normal person. I have tried connecting to irc.immortal-anime.net with mIRC alone (two different versions), mIRC + Ircap and now with Xchat, and it still goes on: when connecting, the "process" of connecting, idetifying my nick and joining the channels I want simply doesn't take place. Instead, all the messages that appear when connecting get frozen, or the client gives a flood alert and adds the server to the ignore list, but I can't do anything: join channels, change the nick, etc., only reconnecting. I have even been banned for overconnecting.

Sometimes it just lets me join after 5-10 times I try, sometimes it just doesn't let me join.

I previously talked to the fellas in #ayuda, but they couldn't even guess what was going on.

How, what should I configure to sort it out?

first off i would make sure you have the correct settings in your mirc client. http://kasshin.net . If that fails i would try another another client, something like chatzilla which works with firefox. You would need to install a addon. there are other online client you could try. i would suggest http://www.mibbit.com/ (helps a lot of comcast users who have had there irc access blocked.) If the website works then the issue is with your client. If you need any more help leave me a pm on the forums or if you get online join #help and talk to me or one of the other staff.
